ABUJA, Dec. 27, 2025 (Naija247news) – Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, vowing to stand firmly with the administration through its next-term ambitions.

Wike’s position was disclosed in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, following a meeting with PDP stakeholders in Ochigba, Rivers State, on Saturday.

The minister, who attended an end-of-year thanksgiving service hosted by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, in Ahoada East Local Government Area, urged party loyalists to remain steadfast with the President despite what he described as acts of intimidation in the state.

Wike reminded attendees that he publicly supported Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, even when the political climate in Rivers made such endorsement difficult.

“Our struggle will not be in vain. I supported Tinubu when it was tough; now that it is easier, I will continue to support him,” he said, adding that those who stood early with the President had since been recognised after his victory.

The minister stressed that political courage was needed in 2023 when many were uncertain of Tinubu’s prospects.

“In politics, you must take a stand believing that the outcome will be favourable. Today, we can say it is good,” he said, adding that Rivers supporters helped Tinubu “stand strong” in the state during the elections.

Wike told supporters that preparations for the 2027 polls will begin in January, promising to honour all political agreements.

“Agreement is agreement. Anything you cannot do, don’t say it,” he said, assuring that he remains committed to Tinubu “till the end.”

The minister dismissed critics who question his loyalty, saying his political camp acted decisively when it mattered most.
