The Enugu State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed confidence in its ability to win all elections in the 2027 general elections, despite recent defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Governor Peter Mbah and other key officials. The party’s Acting State Chairman, Steve Oruruo, made this declaration while addressing journalists at the PDP state office.

PDP Remains Resolute

Oruruo reassured the people of Enugu State that the PDP remains strong and united, committed to rebuilding the party despite the governor’s defection. He emphasized that many people are still committed to the party, while others have expressed interest in joining. “We are unmitigated, unwavering, and unalloyed in our commitment to staying firm and solid. We are undeterred,” Oruruo declared. The acting chairman noted that the party has commenced efforts to galvanize its members, ensuring they remain united and motivated.

PDP to Rebuild and Win Elections

Oruruo emphasized that the PDP is capable of bouncing back in the state, despite the defections, which the party does not intend to challenge in court. He acknowledged minor crises at the national level but assured that the party has mechanisms to resolve any issues promptly. The PDP is focused on rebuilding and emerging stronger, with a commitment to winning elections and recreating a party capable of producing responsible candidates.

Party’s Future Plans

The PDP’s leadership in Enugu State is poised to intensify its grassroots mobilization and engagement, aiming to reconnect with the people and address their concerns. By doing so, the party hopes to regain the trust and support of the electorate, setting the stage for a strong comeback in future elections.

The PDP’s determination to rebuild and stay strong in Enugu State is evident in its resolve to win future elections. With its sights set on 2027, the party remains confident in its ability to bounce back and reclaim power.
