Kano — Naija247news: Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has dismissed speculations of a rift with former governor and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, reaffirming that their relationship remains strong and focused on the development of the state.
The governor’s statement, issued on Wednesday by his Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, came during the 69th Anniversary Lecture in honor of Kwankwaso at Madobi Local Government Area, held as part of the former governor’s 69th birthday celebrations.
“I assure the Kwankwasiyya followers that we will sustain the movement’s ideology, and various initiatives are underway,” Yusuf said, emphasizing that any expectation of division in the movement would lead to disappointment.
Commitment to Kwankwasiyya Movement
Governor Yusuf reiterated his unwavering commitment to the Kwankwasiyya movement, which champions grassroots development, education, youth empowerment, and political inclusiveness in Kano.
He credited Kwankwaso’s blessed track record — from his early life to his leadership years — as the foundation for the movement’s enduring influence in the state.
Yusuf also expressed gratitude to Prof. Kamilu Fagge and Prof. Bello Kano for their prayers against forces allegedly seeking to disrupt peace and stability in Kano under his administration.
Kwankwaso Applauds Developments
Senator Kwankwaso, in his response, commended Governor Yusuf’s achievements, noting visible developmental projects across the state. He also thanked the massive crowd from Kano and neighboring regions who turned out to celebrate his birthday, highlighting the enduring loyalty of the Kwankwasiyya followers.
The event reinforced the unity within the movement, signaling political continuity ahead of upcoming electoral cycles in Kano State and strengthening the collaboration between Kwankwaso and his political allies.
