Tragedy struck in South Africa as a Nigerian pastor of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement was shot dead while allegedly commanding an armed robber to drop his gun.

“In Jesus’ Name, Drop Your Gun!” – But The Bullets Came Instead

Eyewitnesses report that the pastor, whose name has yet to be released, was preaching to a group of Nigerians in Johannesburg when an armed robber stormed the area, demanding valuables.

In a bid to confront the assailant through faith, the pastor reportedly declared:

“I command you in the name of Jesus, drop that gun and repent!”

Instead of surrendering, the gunman fired multiple shots at close range, killing the pastor instantly before escaping with stolen items.

Shock and Outrage Among Nigerians in South Africa

The brutal murder has sparked outrage and sorrow among Nigerian communities in South Africa, many of whom believe that targeted attacks on Nigerians have been on the rise.

“He was a man of peace, always preaching salvation. He never thought this would happen to him,” said a grieving church member.

South African authorities have launched an investigation into the killing, while the Nigerian community is calling for better protection from violent crimes.

A Pattern of Violence Against Nigerians?

Many Nigerians in South Africa have raised concerns about frequent violent attacks, citing cases of xenophobia and criminal targeting.

“How many more of our people must die before something is done? We need security and justice,” said a local Nigerian activist.

Church Reacts: “He Died In Faith”

The Lord’s Chosen Church has since reacted, mourning their late pastor but maintaining that faith in God remains unshaken.

“He died believing in the power of Christ, but this is a reminder that the world we live in is dangerous,” a church spokesperson said.

As Nigerians mourn the loss, the question remains: How safe are Nigerians in South Africa?
