Mr. Nuhu Abdullahi, National Coordinator of the Public Enlightenment Movement, says the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development by President Bola Tinubu will significantly boost the Northern Nigerian economy.
Abdullahi made the remarks during the launch of the second phase of the movement’s nationwide sensitisation programme on Saturday in Kano, designed to update citizens on new infrastructure and development initiatives under the Tinubu administration.
He explained that the ministry will modernize livestock production, strengthen the livestock value chain, and reduce recurring farmer-herder conflicts. Improved livestock management, he said, will enhance productivity, support agribusiness growth, and expand income opportunities for rural families in the North.
The programme also highlights ongoing national infrastructure projects, including the 2,136km Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, the 926km Sokoto–Zamfara–Zaria dualisation, and the Benue 9th Mile–Enugu Expressway (500km), aimed at boosting trade, connectivity, and economic integration between Northern and Southern Nigeria.
Abdullahi urged citizens to support the government’s programmes and collaborate with security agencies to maintain peace and stability, emphasizing that collective efforts are crucial for balanced national development.
