Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has announced key appointments just hours after his inauguration, including the nomination of Dr Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, son of former Governor and current Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, as the Commissioner for Health.
Other appointments include Musa Ikhilor, a lawyer with over 11 years of experience in legislative governance, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and Dr. Samson Osagie as the Attorney Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
He currently serves as the Vice President of the African Bar Association for the West African Region and has previously held office as a two-term member of the Edo State House of Assembly.
He also served in the House of Representatives, where he attained the position of Minority Whip.
Cyril, the son of Senator Oshiomhole, began his education at St. Anne’s Primary School and continued at Command Secondary School.
He later attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).
Cyril furthered his studies at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, LA, earning a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) with a focus on Environmental Health, Toxicology, and Disaster Management.
He, however, continued postgraduate training in Clinical Research at Harvard University in Boston and pursued studies in Gastroenterology at Queen Mary University in London.
The nominations of Osagie and Oshiomhole are subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.(www.naija247news.com)
