The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has implemented another significant reduction in petrol prices, cutting the ex-depot rate from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre, according to real-time market data from Petroleumprice.ng on Friday.
The latest adjustment represents a ₦129 per litre decrease, or 15.58%, marking the 20th petrol price review carried out by the refinery in 2025.
A source familiar with the development confirmed the fresh cut, stating, “The refinery reduced its petrol price to ₦699 per litre.”
The new pricing took effect on December 11, 2025, continuing the refinery’s aggressive downward revisions aimed at stabilising the domestic fuel market.
The reduction comes just five days after the refinery’s Chairman, Aliko Dangote, reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining “reasonable and competitive” fuel prices for Nigerian consumers. Speaking after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6, Dangote had assured that prices would continue to decline as production expands and competition with imported products intensifies.
Despite ongoing smuggling and cross-border leakages, Dangote said the refinery remained determined to keep domestic prices below import-driven benchmarks.
