Nigeria stock market advances by 3.00%, Investors gain N1.077tn

The Nigerian stock market closed higher last week, driven by gains in Dangote Cement, Seplat, BUA Foods and other 52 stocks that appreciated in their share prices, week to date.

The All Share Index and Market capitalization soared by 3.00% to settle at 67,527.19 and N32.8 trillion respectively. Investors gain N1.077 trillion just in one week.

An aggregate of 2.5 billion units of shares were traded in 40,736 deals, valued at N32.8 billion.

The market breadth closed positive as 55 stocks gained against 28 stocks that declined in their share prices.

TOP 10 GAINERS

OMATEK led other gainers last week with 53.33% growth, closing at N0.46 from the previous close of N0.30.

NAHCO, ABC Transport, THOMASWYAT and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance grew their share prices by 14.80%, 39.71%, 38.55% and 27.65% respectively.

Other top 10 gainers include: Dangote Sugar 27.37%, NASCON 24.25%, GLAXOSMITH 22.64%, UPDC 22.55% and Transnational Exppress19.32% respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS

CWG led other price decliners, shedding 19.80% of its share price to close at N4.01 from the previous close of N5.00.

JOHNHOLT, Prestige Assurance, Mat & Baker and Ikeja Hotel shed 14.38%, 12.50%, 11.82% and 11.76% respectively.

Other price decliners include: MCNICHOLS (10.94%), Linkage Assurance (10.00%), MULTIVERSE (10.00%), CHELLARAM (9.85%) and Secured Electronic Technology (9.09%) respectively.(www.naija247news.com).
