Kano, Nov. 1, 2025 (NAN) – The management of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, has criticized its branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for what it described as misrepresentation of facts concerning the university’s development and staff welfare.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar and Head of Information, Media and Public Relations Unit, Abdullahi Abdullahi, on Saturday, the university management dismissed ASUU’s claims as “spurious and unfounded,” asserting that they were intended to misinform the public about the progress of the institution and the Kano State Government’s contributions to education.
Abdullahi highlighted significant developmental projects and reforms under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Musa Yakasai, including renovated lecture theatres, installation of digital teaching aids, and upgraded public address systems. Efforts to improve staff welfare were also underscored, with outstanding salary increments forwarded to the state government for approval.
“The management described ASUU’s allegations as politically motivated and called on the public to disregard the union’s statements,” Abdullahi said. He further detailed that the university library is now connected to fibre-optic internet and the Central Research Laboratory is equipped with modern facilities and solar-powered electricity for uninterrupted power supply.
Regarding finances, the administration revealed that it inherited a backlog of unaudited financial accounts from 2020 to 2022 but has since engaged auditors to update records. The management also praised the Kano State Government for initiatives such as the state of emergency on education and foreign scholarship programs.
Abdullahi concluded that ADUSTECH remains committed to sustaining developmental progress while ensuring the welfare of staff and students, urging the public to disregard politically motivated claims from ASUU.
