Nigerian model Ololade Ayelabola has made history by achieving the Guinness World Record for the longest distance walked on a catwalk. The 26-year-old model covered an astonishing 125.11 kilometers (77.75 miles) over five days during a fashion show in Lagos in October 2024.

She underwent medical tests and was placed on special medication to ensure her body could withstand the grueling walk.
The model, who had faced multiple rejections in the fashion industry due to her height, said those disappointments fueled her determination. “I went for different competitions, but they told me I was too short. Many people would have been discouraged, but I refused to give up,” she said.
During the record attempt, Ololade suffered severe foot injuries, with her skin peeling off by the third day. Medical teams had to bandage her legs and soak them in ice water to relieve the pain, allowing her to push through until the final stretch.
Now, with her name in the Guinness World Records, Ololade is more determined than ever to chase her dreams and inspire others in the fashion industry.
