A fuel tanker exploded in Kontagora, Niger State, on Sunday, triggering panic among residents and motorists. The incident occurred near AA Rano, opposite Kontagora General Hospital, but no casualties were reported.

The Director of Information at the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Hussaini Ibrahim, confirmed the situation was under control. Speaking to Channels Television, he reassured the public that no lives or properties were lost.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion, with preliminary reports pointing to a mechanical fault or leakage as a possible trigger.
