Gold Surges to Record High Above $3,000 Amid Middle East Tensions and Tariff Fears

Gold prices hit a new record high on Tuesday, surpassing $3,000 per ounce as investors flocked to the precious metal amid rising geopolitical risks and U.S. President Donald Trump’s continued tariff plans. Spot gold peaked at $3,028.24 early in the session, later trading at $3,023.30, a 0.7% increase. U.S. gold futures rose by 0.9%, reaching $3,032.

Gold has risen over 14% year-to-date and hit record highs 14 times this year. Analysts have raised their forecasts for the precious metal, with ANZ predicting a three-month price of $3,100 and UBS setting a target of $3,200.

Other precious metals also saw gains: Silver rose 0.6% to $34.03, platinum gained 0.6% to $1,005.70, and palladium climbed 1.4% to $977.96.
