Kanye West has ignited a firestorm on social media after announcing an open casting call for a new choir—one that comes with controversial and highly specific requirements.

The rapper, 47, took to X on Saturday night to post an invitation for “volunteers” to join The Hooligans choir, intended to enhance the sound of his latest Vultures track, Carnival. However, the casting call’s requirements quickly drew widespread condemnation.

“Kanye West Demands Choir Members Be ‘Fit,’ ‘Dark-Skinned,’ and ‘Willing to Shave Their Heads’”

West’s post emphasized that only men could apply, specifying, “NO FAT PEOPLE.” The requirements also stipulated that applicants must have “the skin complexion of Sean Combs and darker.”

Further, potential choir members had to either have shaved heads or be willing to shave their heads if selected. But the most shocking requirement was the final one: “MUST BE COMFORTABLE WEARING SWASTIKAS.”

This latest controversy follows a series of antisemitic actions by West, who introduced a line of T-shirts featuring swastikas in February. His history of inflammatory remarks has already led to professional repercussions, including being dropped by talent agencies and major sponsors.

The backlash was swift and severe. Many social media users called out West’s continued provocations, particularly his antisemitic rhetoric.

“JEWISH lives matter, BLACK lives matter, fk slavery, fk yo NARCISSISM and also- son- f**k you,” wrote one angry commenter.

Others questioned whether the call was even legitimate, as the listed audition address turned out to be an abandoned building.

One user sarcastically responded with a picture of the empty site, saying, “Seems legit.”

“Kanye West Dropped by Agency Again After Nazi Praise: ‘Unacceptable and Dangerous’”

West has faced severe professional fallout for his extremist views. In 2022, he lost nearly all major endorsements and was dropped by his talent agency after making antisemitic comments. Though he managed to find new representation, Los Angeles-based agency 33&West severed ties with him again in February after he publicly declared, “I’m a Nazi … I love Hitler.”

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has strongly condemned West’s behavior.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt told DailyMail.com, “There is no excuse—none—for praising Hitler. When someone with Kanye’s influence spreads Nazi glorification, it emboldens extremists. It’s unacceptable and downright dangerous.”

As the backlash against West’s latest stunt continues, many are left wondering whether this is just another desperate plea for attention or a deeper sign of his ongoing radicalization.
