The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the formation of a South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee to manage the party’s affairs in the region starting from Monday, March 10, 2025.

The move aims to prevent a leadership vacuum following the expiration of the current Zonal Executive’s tenure on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
The newly appointed South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee members include:
• Emma Ogidi – Chairman
• Hon. Nicholas Ayuwa – Member
• Barr. Godwin Akpan Udonta – Member
• Mrs. Bekewei Ashanti – Member
• Idehen Ebomoyi – Member
• Dame Vivian Ahanmisi – Member
• Chief Damiete Herbert-Miller – Secretary
The committee is mandated to oversee party activities in the South-South zone for three months or until a new zonal executive is elected, following the PDP’s constitutional guidelines.
The NWC urged all PDP leaders, stakeholders, and members in the South-South zone to cooperate with the newly appointed caretaker team to ensure the party’s stability and growth in the region.
