The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to shift his focus away from targeting former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, and instead address the challenges within the Senate. In a statement issued by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the opposition party accused Akpabio of orchestrating a smear campaign against Emmanuel, alleging the Senate President’s involvement in media propaganda to discredit the former governor.

The PDP specifically refuted claims that Udom Emmanuel was implicated in corruption by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), labeling such allegations as false and misleading. The party defended Emmanuel’s legacy, highlighting his achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development during his tenure as governor.

The PDP urged Akpabio to refrain from tarnishing Emmanuel’s reputation and instead focus on pressing issues in the National Assembly. The party reaffirmed its commitment to good governance, emphasizing its resistance to political intimidation and misinformation aimed at its members.
