The long-standing feud between the Okoye brothers has taken a new turn, with Peter Okoye allegedly setting his sights on tearing down the P-Square music dynasty. A viral video from the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, February 28, 2025, captured Paul Okoye—one half of the defunct P-Square duo—accusing his twin brother, Peter, of orchestrating their elder brother Jude Okoye’s legal troubles.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Jude, the former manager of P-Square, was arraigned on fraud-related charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). According to court documents, Jude and his company, North Music Limited, were charged with money laundering offenses amounting to N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
Paul, speaking emotionally to journalists outside the courtroom, did not hold back his accusations. He stated:
“It’s not about just supporting Jude; I know the truth. And the truth is, journalists are making it look like he is a fraud. Let’s call a spade a spade—Peter is the one behind this. He is putting Jude in prison, and I’m here to bring him out.”
Paul’s claim fueled speculation that Peter had deliberately initiated the legal battle as part of a larger plan to erase the Okoye family’s musical legacy.
Peter Okoye’s Camp Responds
In response, Peter’s manager, Emem Kush, denied any involvement, stating:
“I don’t know what Paul is talking about. This is between the EFCC and Jude Okoye. Peter had no hand in this case.”
However, sources close to the feud suggest that Peter has long harbored resentment over past financial disputes, which may have led to this moment. His petition to the EFCC reportedly targeted North Music Limited, the company that managed P-Square’s finances for years.
A Feud That Won’t Die
The Okoye brothers’ conflict traces back to 2015, when cracks in their relationship became public. By 2017, P-Square officially disbanded, with both Paul and Peter launching solo careers. Although they reunited for a brief collaboration in 2022, tensions resurfaced in August 2024 when Paul confirmed their final split in a City FM interview.
During that interview, Paul claimed Peter had directly petitioned the EFCC against him and Jude, leading to their questioning. Peter denied this, insisting that his grievances were solely against Jude and his wife, Ifeoma, whom he accused of betrayal.
With Jude now facing a legal battle that could tarnish the Okoye family’s reputation, many wonder if Peter’s ultimate goal is to erase the P-Square legacy completely. The fallout has left fans divided—some defending Peter’s actions as a pursuit of justice, while others believe he has taken his revenge too far.
As the case unfolds, one thing is clear: the Okoye family’s name may never recover from this bitter war.
