Speaking during a guided tour of Alaro City along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced that aviation regulators would visit Lagos next week for a review and site inspection, marking a key step toward the commencement of the Lekki International Airport project. The governor emphasized that the airport would play a pivotal role in attracting investments and enhancing economic growth in the region.
“We are committed to delivering the Lekki International Airport, which will be a major catalyst for economic expansion,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said. “The visit by aviation regulators next week will move us closer to starting construction on this vital project.”
During his visit, the governor, accompanied by members of the Lagos State Executive Council and top government officials, spent over two hours inspecting key businesses within Alaro City. These included Ariel Foods, BUA, TY Danjuma Logistics Park, and Universal Homes.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also announced that construction would soon begin on the Green Line Rail project, which will connect Marina to Lekki. “We commend Alaro City for the impressive infrastructure laid to encourage businesses and investors,” Sanwo-Olu said. “This region is fast becoming a major investment hub, and we are working tirelessly to ensure that infrastructure like the Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Green Line Rail, and the proposed Lekki Airport accelerate growth in this corridor.”
The governor credited President Bola Tinubu for initiating the Lekki Free Trade Zone nearly two decades ago, calling it a visionary step that has since attracted major investments to the area.
“Alaro City is a success story, and I urge investors still on the fence to take action now because things are moving quickly,” he added. “With the expansion of the Lekki-Epe Expressway and other ongoing projects, this area will become a major economic hub in the next decade.”
