Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe – Managing Director/CEO, Fidelity Bank
Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe made history in January 2021 when she became the first female CEO of Fidelity Bank, after joining the institution as an Executive Director in 2015. Under her leadership, the bank has undergone a remarkable transformation, particularly in its digital banking expansion. She has also played a pivotal role in the bank’s international growth, securing approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria to acquire Fidelity Bank UK Limited. Her outstanding contributions have earned her several accolades, including Banker of the Year 2022, Best Banking CEO Nigeria 2023 (Global Banking & Finance Awards), and recognition as one of the Top 25 CEOs in Nigeria 2023 (BusinessDay Awards).

Yemisi Edun – Managing Director/CEO, FCMB
In 2021, Yemisi Edun made history as the first female CEO of First City Monument Bank (FCMB). A chemistry graduate, Edun has a solid background in finance, having served as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer before being appointed CEO. Her leadership has driven FCMB’s expansion, especially in the area of supporting women entrepreneurs. The bank’s SheVentures initiative has successfully funded over 50,000 women-owned businesses. In 2023, Edun was named Banker of the Year by Leadership Newspaper for her role in advancing SME financing and establishing FCMB as a key player in business credit facilitation.

Nneka Enwereji – CEO, Citibank Nigeria
Appointed CEO of Citibank Nigeria in 2024, Nneka Enwereji brings over 31 years of experience in banking, spanning Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Transaction Services, Risk Management, and Operations. Prior to her appointment, she served as Citi’s Head of Global Network Banking (GNB) across Sub-Saharan Africa, where she demonstrated her expertise in global banking operations. Her leadership is expected to further strengthen Citibank’s presence in Nigeria and the wider region.

Adaora Umeoji – CEO, Zenith Bank
Adaora Umeoji made history in 2024 when she became Zenith Bank’s first female CEO. With over 30 years of banking experience, including 26 years at Zenith, Umeoji has been an integral part of the bank’s growth and operational success. Before her appointment as CEO, she served as Deputy Managing Director, where she was instrumental in shaping the bank’s strategic direction and growth initiatives.

Oluwatomi Somefun – CEO, Unity Bank
Oluwatomi Somefun has been at the helm of Unity Bank since August 2015, making her one of the longest-serving female CEOs in Nigeria’s banking sector. A graduate of English Education, Somefun previously served as an Executive Director overseeing the Lagos and South-West regions. Her leadership has been pivotal in Unity Bank’s growth and operational stability, and she continues to serve as a role model for aspiring female executives in the banking industry.

Yetunde Oni – CEO, Union Bank
In 2024, Yetunde Oni was appointed CEO of Union Bank, bringing over three decades of banking experience to the role. Oni previously made history as the first female CEO of Standard Bank in Sierra Leone. Her career has seen her hold leadership positions at Prime Merchant Bank, Ecobank Nigeria, and Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, where she rose through the ranks to lead the Commercial Banking unit in West Africa. Her vast experience and expertise make her a significant figure in Nigeria’s banking sector.
