Abuja, March 6, 2025 (Naija247news) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has officially adopted the indirect primary mode to select its candidate for the upcoming Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.

Stakeholder Consultation and Fair Process
Basiru emphasized that the decision to use the indirect primary method was made to ensure inclusivity and was based on recommendations from the State Working Committee.
He further announced that a stakeholders’ meeting, involving the State Working Committee, the State Caucus, and all governorship aspirants, would be held at the party’s national headquarters to further deliberate on the process.
“The party’s leadership is committed to providing a level playing field for all aspirants,” Basiru assured.
Engagement on Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
Beyond the primary election, Basiru revealed that the NWC intends to initiate discussions with government appointees regarding their achievements under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
This engagement, set to commence after the Ramadan fast, aims to evaluate the progress and challenges faced by various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
APC’s E-Registration Drive Gains Momentum
Basiru also provided updates on the party’s ongoing e-registration process. He confirmed that consultants handling the project had been mobilized, and necessary equipment and software had been acquired to ensure a seamless exercise.
“Our goal is to have a membership register with integrity before the next election, which will also help us understand the party’s demographics,” he stated.
N350 Million Generated from Aspirants
Naija247news reports that APC raised N350 million from the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to seven governorship aspirants.
• Nomination Form – N40 million
• Expression of Interest Form – N10 million
The seven aspirants vying for the party’s ticket in the April 5 primary election include:
1. Chukuma Umeoji
2. Prof. Obiora Okonkwo
3. Nicholas Ukachukwu
4. Sir Paul Chukwuma
5. Onunkwo Johnbosco Obinna
6. Valentine Ozigbo
7. Edozie Madu
