During the court session on Wednesday, following Portable’s initial arraignment on February 20, 2025, Senior State Counsel Timilehin Oredein informed the court that it would be inefficient to proceed with the cases separately. Oredein highlighted that the singer’s case was connected to a sister case involving nine of his workers, who had been arraigned earlier on February 6, 2025, on similar charges.

The charges against Portable and his workers include conspiracy, assault, and unlawful obstruction, while armed with cutlasses and a gun, in an incident likely to cause a public disturbance. Additionally, they face accusations of assaulting three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The prosecution has requested that the cases be merged and a new charge be substituted before the trial commences.
