Successful candidates are expected to commence documentation immediately.
Governor Aiyedatiwa had initially approved the recruitment of 1,000 secondary school teachers and 1,000 primary school teachers last year, leading to the commencement of the hiring process by TESCOM and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). While the final list for secondary school teachers has been approved, the primary school teachers’ recruitment process is still being finalized.
The Governor emphasized the need to address teaching staff shortages in public schools, particularly in rural areas, directing that recruitment should focus on understaffed schools to enhance education delivery.
As part of broader efforts to revamp the education sector, Governor Aiyedatiwa also approved N633 million for the registration of students for the West African Examination Council’s (WAEC) Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination. Additionally, he recently approved the upgrade and conversion of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, into a University of Agriculture and Agribusiness.
