Justice Rahman Oshodi directed that Jude Okoye be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the hearing of his bail application, which is set for March 6.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Okoye alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, on a four-count charge. One of the charges alleges that he dishonestly converted $767,544.15 paid by Lex Records Limited for music royalties, depriving his brother, Peter Okoye, of his rightful share.

The EFCC prosecutor, Mohammed Bashiru, stated that the alleged offences occurred between 2016 and 2023. Okoye pleaded not guilty, and his lawyer, Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN), filed a bail application dated January 27. However, the prosecution requested time to respond, leading Justice Oshodi to order Okoye’s remand.

In a separate case before the Federal High Court in Lagos, Okoye is also facing money laundering allegations involving N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. He was granted bail on March 3 in the sum of N100 million with two sureties in like sum, with his trial set to begin on April 14.
