The 32-year-old, Nigeria’s all-time top World Cup scorer, was included in Coach Eric Chelle’s 39-man provisional squad, featuring key players from the recent AFCON campaign such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, William Troost-Ekong, and Alex Iwobi.

Chelle has also called up Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) stars, including Kayode Bankole, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, and Papa Daniel Mustapha.

Nigeria, currently fourth in Group C with three points from four games, must secure victories to revive their World Cup hopes. The squad will be trimmed to 23 players ahead of the matches against Rwanda on March 21 and Zimbabwe on March 25.
