Atletico Madrid had briefly overtaken them after a 1-0 win over Athletic Club, but Hansi Flick’s side swiftly restored their lead in the title race. Goals from Gerard Martin, Marc Casado, Ronald Araujo, and Robert Lewandowski secured Barcelona’s sixth consecutive league victory.

Sociedad, sitting ninth in the standings, had beaten Barcelona 1-0 in their last meeting but found themselves at a disadvantage early on. Defender Aritz Elustondo saw red in the 17th minute for a last-man foul on Dani Olmo. The hosts wasted no time capitalizing, with Lamine Yamal and Olmo combining to set up Martin for his first Barcelona goal in the 25th minute.

Four minutes later, Casado doubled the lead after Olmo’s strike deflected off him and into the net. Araujo added a third before halftime, heading in a Raphinha corner. The rout was completed in the 60th minute when Lewandowski redirected Araujo’s shot past Sociedad keeper Alex Remiro.

With this emphatic win, Barcelona extends their lead at the top, keeping the title race firmly in their hands.
