Como, an ambitious and financially backed club, are looking to move further away from the relegation zone after a busy winter transfer window. The club, currently seven points clear of the bottom three, has bolstered its squad with new signings, including Alli, in an effort to maintain their top-flight status for another season.

Dele Alli joined Como on an 18-month contract at the end of 2024, with the option to extend for an additional year. Since moving to Italy, Alli has been training with the lakeside team and hopes to relaunch his career after a series of disappointing seasons.

The midfielder’s career took a downturn after leaving Tottenham Hotspur, where he initially gained recognition as one of the Premier League’s brightest talents. Alli struggled to maintain form at Everton following his move in January 2022, making just 13 appearances and failing to score. His time at Goodison Park ended with a loan to Turkish club Besiktas, where his performances also fell short.

In 2023, Dele revealed the personal challenges he faced, including battles with mental health and the trauma of sexual abuse as a child, shedding light on the struggles that contributed to his dip in form.

At his peak, Alli was a key player for Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored 67 goals in seven seasons and forged a strong partnership with Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. He was also part of the team that reached the 2019 UEFA Champions League final.

As Como prepares for their match against Roma, Alli will be eager to prove himself and reignite his career in Serie A, hoping to make a significant impact on the pitch.
