Reporting from Kyiv, Ukraine
The general consensus among [Ukrainian] chat groups and social media is a general applauding of Zelenskyy’s actions and comments in the White House.
There’s a general feeling that Zelenskyy was very brave, he stuck to his guns, and there’s a sense of pride about how he behaved.
I think it’s fair to say that people would have been shocked to see how put-upon Zelenskyy was in that press conference. It was very telling that there was a period of time where Zelenskyy was asked two or three questions and he was not actually given a chance to answer.
There was a feeling of great uncertainty going into this press conference.
It looks as if now the situation is even more fraught. Nobody across Ukraine expected this kind of scene at the White House.
