Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, is pushing for a swift decision regarding Victor Osimhen’s future as speculation grows over a potential move to Manchester United.

The Nigerian striker, who is expected to leave Napoli at the end of the 2024/25 season, has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford. Reports suggest that Man United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to sign the 26-year-old forward, with the club reportedly ready to trigger his release clause.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in outstanding form, netting 20 goals in 26 appearances, making him one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Manna acknowledged the growing interest in Osimhen and the need for a quick resolution to avoid a drawn-out transfer saga.

“Victor Osimhen is always a hot topic, not just in the transfer market. He is an attractive player for many clubs, and everyone knows about his release clause. We are working to find a quick solution to avoid a repeat of last summer’s saga,” Manna stated.

Napoli previously sold Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG in January and are eager to prevent another mid-season disruption.

“There are regrets. Losing a key player mid-season is never easy,” Manna admitted. “We must always be ready to handle situations beyond our control, but we are confident we made the right decision.”

Osimhen was close to joining Chelsea and had even agreed on a deal with Al-Ahli before Napoli raised their asking price, causing the Saudi club to pull out. Chelsea also failed to reach an agreement, leading to Osimhen’s exclusion from Napoli’s Serie A squad before his loan move to Galatasaray.
