According to Naija247news, the committee emphasized that the review would prioritize the concerns of ordinary Nigerians, including issues such as state police, resource control, and gender equality. “This is not just a legislative exercise; it is a people’s project. We are committed to ensuring that the voices of Nigerians are heard and reflected in the final document,” Hon. Kalu stated.

Naija247news gathered that the public hearing attracted a diverse range of participants, including civil society organizations, traditional rulers, and youth groups. Many of them expressed optimism about the committee’s commitment to inclusivity and transparency. “This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of our country. We are hopeful that the committee will deliver a constitution that truly represents the aspirations of Nigerians,” said a representative of a youth group who spoke to Naija247news.

Naija247news understands that the review process is expected to address key areas of concern, including the devolution of powers, local government autonomy, and electoral reforms. According to Naija247news, the committee has also pledged to ensure that the review is completed within a reasonable timeframe to avoid unnecessary delays.

Naija247news reports that the House Committee has promised to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including state and local governments, to ensure that the review process is thorough and representative. “We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to deliver a constitution that meets the expectations of Nigerians,” Hon. Kalu assured.

As the review process continues, Naija247news gathered that Nigerians are hopeful that the committee will deliver on its promises and produce a constitution that promotes good governance and national unity.
