According to Naija247news, Governor Sani’s administration has implemented several initiatives aimed at promoting cleanliness, waste management, and disease prevention across Kaduna State. These efforts include the construction of modern waste disposal facilities, the introduction of community-based sanitation programs, and the enforcement of environmental health laws.

Naija247news gathered that the award was received on behalf of the governor by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Environment, Abubakar Buba, who dedicated the honor to the people of the state. “This award is a reflection of our collective efforts to create a cleaner, healthier Kaduna. We remain committed to sustaining these achievements and setting higher standards,” Buba stated.

Naija247news understands that the recognition has been widely celebrated by residents and stakeholders in Kaduna State. A community leader from Kaduna North, who spoke to Naija247news, praised the governor’s efforts, saying, “The improvements in waste management and sanitation are visible. Our neighborhoods are cleaner, and the incidence of diseases has reduced significantly.”

According to Naija247news, EHORECON’s decision to honor Governor Sani was based on a rigorous assessment of environmental health policies and their impact across Nigeria. The council’s Registrar, Dr. Yakubu Baba, described Sani as “a model for other states to emulate,” adding that his administration’s proactive approach has set a new benchmark in environmental health management.

Naija247news reports that the award has also drawn attention to the broader challenges of environmental health in Nigeria, including poor waste management systems and inadequate sanitation infrastructure in many states. Experts have called for increased investment and collaboration between federal and state governments to address these issues.

As Kaduna State continues to lead by example, Naija247news gathered that Governor Sani has pledged to expand his administration’s environmental health initiatives. “We will not rest on our laurels. Our goal is to make Kaduna the cleanest and healthiest state in Nigeria,” he said during a post-award interview.
