During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Abdullahi emphasized that Nigeria has not faced food scarcity, nor will it in the future, by the grace of God.

Abdullahi explained that while there may be macro-economic factors influencing food prices, food availability remains stable, with buffer stock strategies in place across several states and the Federal Government’s food silos.
The Minister also dismissed claims of Nigeria’s food insufficiency, pointing out that the presence of diverse food options in markets is a clear indication that there is no need for concern. He further confirmed that Nigeria has made significant strides in rice production, although consumer preferences still lean towards imported rice. Abdullahi assured that President Tinubu is committed to addressing food inflation and stabilizing prices to ensure that all Nigerians can access affordable food.
