The lower court, presided over by Justice Adedokun, had ruled in favor of Prince Kabiru Laoye, who challenged the selection process, arguing that due process was not followed. Justice Adedokun declared Oba Ghandi’s appointment illegal and ordered a fresh selection process.
Dissatisfied with the ruling, Oba Ghandi took the case to the appellate court, seeking to overturn the decision.
The Appeal Court, after reviewing ten grounds of appeal, ruled in favor of Oba Ghandi, effectively resolving the leadership dispute and upholding his status as the legitimate Soun of Ogbomosoland.
With this judgement, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye’s reign has been legally solidified, ending the controversy that trailed his ascension to the revered throne.
