anye West’s account on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has been deactivated following a series of controversial and vitriolic posts that included anti-Semitic remarks. It remains unclear whether the artist, who legally changed his name to Ye, deactivated the account himself or if it was taken down by the platform.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In his final post, Ye wrote, “I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board,” referring to Elon Musk, the owner of X.
This latest incident follows a well-known pattern for the rapper and entrepreneur, who has frequently made headlines not only for his music but also for his provocative and often hate-filled statements. Ye has been locked out of social media platforms in the past, including an eight-month ban from X for violating rules against inciting violence.
His recent posts included support for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently imprisoned on sex trafficking charges, and an alarming series of comments where he repeatedly referred to himself as a “Nazi.” He also stirred controversy with a stunt at the Grammy Awards, where his wife, Bianca Censori, appeared virtually nude on the red carpet.
X has not responded to requests for comment on the deactivation.
Ye has been open about his struggles with bipolar disorder, but in a recent appearance on “The Download” podcast, he revealed that he had also been diagnosed with autism.
