According to Naija247news, the shopping complex, to be named the Yola Ultra-Modern Market, will feature over 5,000 shops, modern facilities, and amenities designed to attract traders and shoppers from across the region. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months and will include a banking hall, restaurants, parking spaces, and a waste management system to ensure cleanliness and sustainability.

Naija247news gathered that the initiative is part of Governor Fintiri’s broader agenda to transform Adamawa State into a commercial hub in northeastern Nigeria. During the ceremony, the governor emphasized that the project will not only stimulate economic growth but also improve the standard of living for residents. “This shopping complex is a testament to our commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and providing our people with world-class infrastructure,” Fintiri stated.

Naija247news understands that the project has been met with widespread enthusiasm by traders and residents, who have long decried the poor state of existing markets in Yola. Many believe the new complex will address issues such as overcrowding, poor sanitation, and inadequate facilities that have plagued traditional markets. “This is a welcome development. We have been waiting for a modern market for years, and this will definitely boost our businesses,” said Hajiya Aisha Musa, a local trader.

According to Naija247news, the Adamawa State Government has partnered with reputable construction firms to ensure the timely and quality delivery of the project. The government has also assured that the complex will be accessible to all, with affordable rental rates for shop owners and traders. “We are committed to ensuring that this project benefits everyone, especially small and medium-scale entrepreneurs,” a government official told Naija247news.

Naija247news reports that the Yola Ultra-Modern Market is expected to attract investors and shoppers from neighboring states, further positioning Adamawa as a key player in regional trade. The project is also anticipated to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs during and after its construction, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy.

As construction begins, Naija247news gathered that the project has already sparked optimism among residents, who see it as a symbol of progress and development in Adamawa State. With its potential to transform Yola’s commercial landscape, the shopping complex is poised to become a landmark achievement in Governor Fintiri’s administration.
