Kaduna, Feb. 8, 2025 (NAN) – Bello El-Rufa’i, Member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, has spoken in favor of probing the administration of his father, Nasir El-Rufa’i, but stressed that the investigation must be carried out with genuine intent, not for personal or political reasons.

He stated, “It is not a bad thing to investigate. But it should be done with clear intention and not to humiliate anyone or because someone has offended you. But if you are doing it for selfish reasons, Allah will judge. Allah will forgive your frailties but will not overlook the harm you inflict on someone.”
The lawmaker also discussed the ongoing political rift between his father and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani. Despite admitting to being unaware of the exact cause of the fallout, Bello expressed disappointment over the tension between two figures who were once closely allied. “It is unsettling. I wouldn’t love to see my enemies picking a fight with each other. I love peace,” he said.
Bello added that external parties had exaggerated the situation, comparing it to a famous conflict from an Indian movie, and noted that some people had even approached him seeking information on the dispute. “None of them told me anything about the rift. I only got to understand that things are no longer as before,” he said, adding that the issue had been blown out of proportion.
The representative acknowledged that disagreements are part of life, including in relationships and friendships, but emphasized the importance of preserving ties regardless of challenges. “Marriages sometimes break, friends can cut ties. But it is important to maintain and preserve the ties, no matter what,” he remarked.
When asked if he could mediate between the two political figures, Bello declined, stating that his primary focus was on fulfilling his mandate to the people of Kaduna North. “It is not my job. Mine is to focus on delivering on my mandate to the good people of Kaduna North. I love peace and fidelity. But for me, if I were to join issues with anyone, I’d rather approach it not publicly,” he explained.
Regarding his father’s political legacy, Bello spoke highly of Nasir El-Rufa’i, calling him irreplaceable in the political landscape. “For me, politically speaking, Mallam Nasiru has no equal. He’s only concentrating on his work. He’s a father. He’s my father,” he said.
Bello concluded by expressing surprise at the public’s expectations for him to comment on Governor Uba Sani. “It is still surprising that some people are waiting for me to say something about Governor Uba Sani,” he said.
