The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminu Tsanyawa, revealed that Kano has already made significant strides in polio eradication, with no reported cases in the past two years. However, he emphasized that the new plan aims to consolidate these gains and achieve complete eradication. “We are committed to ensuring that Kano becomes a polio-free state and a model for maternal healthcare in Nigeria,” Dr. Tsanyawa stated during the launch event.
