Israeli forces have intensified their military operations across the occupied West Bank, demolishing several Palestinian homes in the Jenin refugee camp overnight, according to Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency. The demolition of civilian structures is part of a broader assault that has been ongoing since January 21, targeting Jenin city, its refugee camp, and surrounding towns.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The raids have caused widespread destruction and displacement, with nearly 90 percent of the camp’s population forced to flee. Many of the displaced have sought refuge in nearby villages and towns within Jenin governorate. The Israeli military also continued its siege of Jenin Governmental Hospital, having bulldozed the main entrance and access roads earlier in the offensive.
This escalation follows a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and has already resulted in the deaths of at least 25 Palestinians, with more casualties expected as the violence spreads. The Israeli army has reinforced its presence in the area with intensive drone surveillance and the presence of military vehicles.
Further violence has erupted in other parts of the West Bank, including Tulkarem, where the Israeli forces have carried out a 12-day military assault, causing significant damage to infrastructure and civilian property. The assault has also led to mass arrests and forced evictions, turning Palestinian homes into military outposts.
In Beita, Israeli soldiers targeted an ambulance crew during a raid, injuring a paramedic and damaging the vehicle. The assault on Palestinian territories is part of a broader strategy that has left thousands displaced and without basic necessities, as electricity and water supplies have been cut off in many regions.
