Meet the Nominees:
• Yemi Alade – “Tomorrow”
Securing her first solo Grammy nomination, Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, produced by Dee Yasso, showcases a fusion of Nigerian and South African sounds, staying true to her Pan-African musical identity.
• Asake & Wizkid – “MMS”

• Chris Brown Featuring Davido & Lojay – “Sensational”
This nomination has stirred discussions, as it marks the first time a non-African artist—Chris Brown—has been included in the category. With Davido and Lojay lending their vocals to the track’s Afrobeats-infused production, some wonder if this could be a game-changing moment for the category’s future.
• Burna Boy – “Higher”
A Grammy veteran, Burna Boy aims to add to his collection with Higher. Following his historic Twice as Tall win in 2021 and six consecutive years of Grammy nominations, the Dangote crooner remains one of the continent’s biggest global exports.
• Tems – “Love Me JeJe”
With three Grammy nominations this year—Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Album, and Best R&B Song—Tems leads the African nominees. Her song Love Me JeJe, from her debut album Born in the Wild, continues her streak of international recognition.
