Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and his Rivers counterpart, Siminalayi Fubara, convened a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum on Friday in Asaba, Delta State. The meeting, which was attended by 11 governors and a deputy governor, comes at a time when the party is facing significant internal challenges.
The governors in attendance included: Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa), and Bayo Lawal (Oyo State Deputy Governor).
Governor Oborevwori, the host of the event, expressed his joy at the gathering, noting the warm presence of his colleagues, many of whom donned the traditional attire of the South-South region. The meeting underscores the continued efforts of PDP governors to unite and address the internal issues currently challenging the opposition party.
The ongoing internal crisis within the PDP remains a focal point for the party, with key members seeking resolutions to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
