FG Launches DeepTech_Ready Upskilling Program to Empower Nigerians in Data Science, AI

In a significant move to position Nigeria as a global leader in digital innovation, the Federal Government on Thursday unveiled the DeepTech_Ready Upskilling Program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at equipping Nigerians with advanced skills in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The program, announced by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, is part of the government’s broader 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative.

According to Dr. Tijani, the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to transforming Nigeria into a hub for digital talent and innovation. “This program is a critical step in our journey to empower young Nigerians with the skills needed to thrive in the global tech ecosystem,” the Minister stated in a post on his official social media handle.

According to Naija247news, the program is open to 3MTT fellows and individuals with basic to intermediate knowledge in technical fields. The six-month training, which combines self-paced and on-site learning with online support, will cover cutting-edge courses such as Advanced Data Analysis and Visualization, Data Science/Machine Learning, Geospatial Data Science, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Advanced Machine Learning Techniques.
