Lagos, Jan. 29, 2025 (Naija247news) – The Federal Government and Ogun State have reaffirmed their commitment to improving Nigeria’s business environment as they jointly unveiled the $12 million Springfield Agro Limited Crops Protection Chemical Plant in Sagamu.

Sabi Abdullahi, emphasized the government’s focus on expanding industrial capacity to ensure food security. “The guarantee of food security in Nigeria lies in our ability to expand industrial capacity across the value chain,” Shettima stated.
Ogun State Governor Adedapo Abiodun, represented by Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, lauded the Kewalram Chanrai Group’s commitment to agriculture, healthcare, and sustainable development, reaffirming Ogun’s reputation as an industrial hub.
The new agrochemical plant, which will produce herbicides and insecticides alongside an integrated bottle manufacturing unit, is expected to generate between 300 and 500 direct and indirect jobs. The facility also includes a CSR hospital to enhance healthcare access in the local community.
Kewalram Chanrai Group Chairman, Mr. Narain Chanrai, highlighted Springfield’s success in Nigeria as the driving force behind expansion into other African markets. “This project is a testament to what can be achieved when the private and public sectors collaborate for growth,” he added.
The Nigerian government has assured investors of continued support through infrastructure development, policy incentives, and a conducive business environment to drive industrial growth and economic inclusivity.
