TWO weeks after spotting a fake lawyer at Favour Plaza along Udu Road, a team of lawyers from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Udu Branch in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State led by David Omage on Wednesday caught another fake lawyer, Godspower Ogoba.

This comes two days after the police arraigned Olubuwe Ossai Silas in charge NO: MCON/2C/2025 at the Magistrate Court Ovwian for impersonating a lawyer.

Secretary of NBA, Udu Branch, Austin Nyekigbe confirmed the development in a statement to Vanguard.

He noted that the suspect was apprehended on 29th January 2025.

Nyekigbe said the suspect was apprehended in a business centre at Ufuoma Street, Ovwian preparing a Deed using the name and seal of the late Samson Ugbogbo Esq, and that of Jonathan Eguaveon, Esq. who is currently in the US.

“According to Godspower, he charged 5k for the Deed of a land of N5.5M. He has been handed over to the Police and he is presently cooling off at the Ovwian Police Station,” Nyekigbe said.

Meanwhile, Silas was charged to Magistrate Court Ovwian Monday and granted bail of N1million with surety of like some.

“Issue of quackery is dangerous to professional bodies as they constitute grave danger. We won’t rest until we rid NBA of fake Lawyers,” NBA Chairman Udu, J. E Odohisi Esq, stated.
