Abuja, Jan. 30, 2025 (Naija247news) – Justice MaryAnne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court has adjourned the trial of Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, in the alleged money laundering case to April 3rd, April 24th, and May 6th, 2025.

Nworah described a property transaction involving Shehu Bello and Efab Property in Maitama but did not mention Yahaya Bello during his testimony.
Prosecution Counsel, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, informed the court of five witnesses for the day, but Justice Anenih allowed only one witness due to time constraints. The defence raised objections, claiming that the prosecution had not made available crucial documents, including the statements on oath of the second defendant.
Defence Counsel, Joseph Daudu, SAN, argued that the defendants had not received necessary documents in advance, hampering their ability to prepare for cross-examination. He emphasized that such delays were an obstacle to a fair trial. The Prosecution, however, dismissed these objections, claiming the defendants were seeking to delay proceedings.
After hearing the arguments, Justice Anenih refused the adjournment request and proceeded with the case, allowing Fabian Nworah to testify about the transaction with Shehu Bello. The case will continue in April and May 2025.
