Birnin Kebbi, Jan. 29, 2025 (Naija247news) – The Kebbi State Government has postponed the highly anticipated 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival from February 2025 to February 2026, citing ongoing infrastructure upgrades in Argungu.

According to Abubakar-Tafida, the ongoing road dualization and other development projects in Argungu necessitated the shift to ensure a world-class event in 2026.
“The state government is fully committed to delivering the best fishing and cultural festival, one that truly reflects the rich heritage of Kebbi State,” he assured.
He expressed gratitude for the patience and cooperation of stakeholders, urging collective efforts toward a brighter future for the state.
The Argungu Festival, a UNESCO-recognized cultural event, is one of Nigeria’s most prominent tourism attractions, drawing participants and spectators from across the country and beyond.
