It was gathered that the suspects allegedly stole $14,918.69 during the operation.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed the arrests, adding that the suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the Public Prosecution Office for further legal action.
The Arab Times reported that the Criminal Security Sector, through the General Department of Criminal Investigations in the Ahmadi Governorate, carried out the arrests within 24 hours of the crime.
Meanwhile, the gang made off with foreign currencies valued at around 4,600 Kuwaiti dinars.
Investigations revealed that the group carefully planned the heist, keeping watch on exchange offices from nearby rooftops to pinpoint peak business hours.
They also used stolen license plates to disguise the vehicles used during the operation.
However, police apprehended one suspect in Mahboula, who admitted to surveilling the exchange office and notifying his accomplice once it was free of customers.
The second suspect was arrested in the Al-Qurain Markets area.
Authorities recovered the stolen money and a small bag of the narcotic “crystal meth” from his home.
