Secondary school students beat teacher to coma in Kogi

Some students of Ebira Muslim Community College Okengwe, (EMCCO) in Okene LGA o Kogi state has allegedly beaten one of their teachers to coma.

The boys whoa re said to be in SS2, operating in the guise of a cult group were said to have embarrass and humiliated th Physics teacher, Mr Muktar Salihu.

The act was said to have been part of their grand plan to bring the college under their full control and administrative commandment.

 

The alleged leader of the group, Abdulbatin is said to be a son to one of the traditional ruler in the area – the Opokitipo of Esusu clan in Okengwe district of the Okene council Area.

 

As at the time of writing this report, the teacher who went into coma is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

 

One of the school teachers has however called on relevant agencies to assist the school in curbing the activities of the ‘boys’

 

“We urge the State Ministry of Education, State Education Board, the security agencies and other relevant authorities to urgently swing into action with a view to bring the perpetuators to book, forestall future occurences and instill discipline in our schools and colleges” the teachers stated.

Vanguard gathered that the District Police Officer in the area has waded into the matter and has ordered the traditional ruler to produce his son tomorrow unfailingly
