“Since we came to office, we’ve been focused on attracting MRO facilities to our aviation ecosystem, just as they exist in other parts of the world,” Keyamo said.
The minister highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that what the government had been seeking internationally is now being achieved locally through this partnership with XeJet and Nigerian financial institutions.
“This collaboration between an indigenous operator and local banks is a dream come true,” he added.
The new facility will include a training center alongside its MRO and flight support services. Keyamo described the addition of the training center as “a huge achievement” that will not only cater to Nigeria’s needs but also attract users from across the West African sub-region.
“The dream is to make this facility a regional center for excellence,” Keyamo concluded.
This move is a significant milestone in the government’s effort to modernize Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure and establish the country as a leader in regional aerospace development.
