Abeokuta, Jan. 21, 2025 — The Ogun State Government has initiated the refund of N92.6 million to 33 unsuccessful subscribers of its housing units across the state.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!At a news conference on the breakdown and highlights of the 2025 approved budget, the state Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Jamiu Omoniyi, stated that the state government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun, remains committed to being responsible, responsive, and accountable for its actions.
“I can boldly say that all the 33 unsuccessful subscribers to all our schemes have been collated with their refund amounting to N92.6 million. It has already been approved, and the cheques are ready for collection at the Ministry of Housing,” he said.
The commissioner also mentioned plans to deliver 5,000 housing units and undertake legacy projects. A total of N17 billion is expected to be spent on the housing initiative, which includes the construction of quarters for judges and other key infrastructure.
Earlier, the Economic Adviser and Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, highlighted that Ogun has positioned itself to benefit from the expansion of Lagos, enhancing its economic potential. Okubadejo, who chaired the news conference, noted that the state’s budget had grown from N330 billion in 2020 to N1.045 trillion in 2025. This five-year growth underscores Ogun’s leadership in promoting business-friendly policies and attracting direct foreign investments.
The finance commissioner emphasized the state’s commitment to job creation, food production, and tackling insecurity as part of its broader economic goals.
