The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has distanced itself from the alleged killer of an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officer, insisting that the suspect is not a registered medical doctor.

Following the incident, reports emerged suggesting that the suspect was a medical doctor. However, the NMA in a statement issued on Saturday by its President, Dr. Uche Ojinmah, debunked the claim.
According to Naija247news, Dr. Ojinmah stated that the association had conducted preliminary investigations and found no record of the alleged killer in its database.
“We wish to categorically state that the individual involved in this unfortunate incident is not a registered medical doctor with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN),” the statement read.
Naija247news understands that the NMA expressed its deep regret over the tragic incident and extended its condolences to the family of the deceased officer.
The association also called on law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Dr. Ojinmah emphasized that the medical profession is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and would not condone any act of violence.
He urged the public to disregard any misinformation or misrepresentation of the incident.
The statement concluded by reiterating the NMA’s commitment to working with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of all medical professionals in the country.
