Ogun Governor Approves Recruitment of 1,000 Amotekun Personnel, Vows to Strengthen Security

In a bid to further enhance security across Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the recruitment of 1,000 personnel for the state’s community policing outfit, Amotekun Corps.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, during a press briefing held at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Naija247news gathered that the recruitment exercise, which will commence soon, is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the Amotekun Corps to effectively combat crime and ensure the safety of lives and property within the state.

According to Naija247news, the Governor has directed the Amotekun Corps to collaborate with other security agencies, including the police, army, and other relevant stakeholders, to ensure effective intelligence gathering and swift response to security threats.
