These sets will be deployed on both the LRMT Blue and Red Lines to improve operational efficiency and boost the economic impact of the state’s mass transit system.
The introduction of the six train sets will increase the frequency of trips along the Blue Line, especially after the completion of Phase Two, which extends from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko. The 14-kilometer extension is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2027, after which passenger operations will reach Okokomaiko.
Currently, the Blue Line runs 72 trips per day between Marina and Mile 2, with an increase in rolling stock expected to further elevate service frequency. Meanwhile, the Red Line, which operates eight trips daily, will also benefit from the additional trains, contributing to a rise in the number of daily trips.
This development is part of ongoing efforts to improve Lagos’ public transportation system, further solidifying the state’s commitment to enhancing mobility and boosting economic growth.
